OCEAN OF LOVE
On my Wet Paint Preview page you can see how my paintings begin and actually evolve over time. After the initial sketch, which is created directly on canvas with either paint or graphite, I methodically build up semi translucent layers of color. Each layer is constructed organically and intuitively, one over the next. This creates the characteristically unique color and light pattern I am known for. For a considerable period of time I continue to rework the entire surface refining it as I go along until I feel the painting is complete. The result, which I refer to as a "Living tapestry of Light", is the culmination and integration of subtle nuance through shadow, light and color. Because of the way light interacts with color in these paintings they tend to have an ever changing appearance as light conditions change throughout the day.
